Sheffield Cricket Lovers' Society Year Book 2026

Congratulations… and thanks Every Club and Society needs a pair of Brians (or Bryans)! There is a name for people like our own Brian Whitehead and Bryan Turner… stalwarts - and it is well merited. The long serving, loyal and committed members were recognised at the Christmas Lunch in December 2025. Society Chair Dorothy Betts presented each of them with awards for their valued contributions. Brian Whitehead (above) has been on the committee, a sponsor, our photographer, umpire and all-round good egg for many years. As he follows YCCC regularly he was given a plaque in his name on the East Stand Long Room wall at Headingley. Meanwhile, Bryan Turner (below), who has supported us in numerous ways for a significant length of time, was given the David Drabble Honorary Membership for 2025. db and Bumble’s front cover picture is begging for a funny caption.
