LCL Handbook 2026 52 12.3. TorequestatransferaplayermustapplyinwritingtotheRegistration Secretary, stating the Clubs concerned. The Registration Secretary will then ascertain if their former Club objects, and if it consents the transfer shall be granted by him to become operative forthwith, but should it object, the ground of objection must be stated forthwith, and the LERC shall have power to deal with the matter at once. 12.4. Any player who is not permittedby the LERC to transfer to or register for a League Club may appeal such decision in writing to the LERC for their application to transfer or register to be reconsidered. The LERC will consider such appeal in accordance with their rules. The decision of such appeal to the LERC will be final. 12.5. Players so transferred under this Rule cannot apply for a further transfer until a period of 2 years has elapsed since the date of approval of his previous transfer. Any player may appeal to the LERC to waive or amend that period. 12.6. The 2 year requirement shall be overridden if, the player in question is returning to the club which is considered to be his home club and for which purpose 3rd XI cricket will be considered Senior (adult) cricket. In disputed matters, the LERC will decide which club was the player’s home club. 12.7. Any amateur player in the League who is duly registered in accordance with these Rules who plays for another Cricket Club with a Professional in a senior weekend Cricket League shall lose their eligibility to play in any further League Match for that Season or remaining part thereof and they will be considered ineligible under Rule D8. 12.8. The Education Exception This Rule is not intended to prevent an amateur player duly registered and returning from full time education being eligible to play for their Club. A student living away from home will be entitled to play for a club near to their educational establishment during term time and then for their home club when they return home after the end of the term but if such player returns home for the weekend in term time they will not be allowed to play for their home club at that time. Players wishing to avail themselves of this rule must obtain permission from the LERC prior to the start of each season. 12.9. Providing that they have no outstanding obligation to his existing Club a Player shall be a free agent between such date as their club played their last game in the current season (i.e ALL divisions) and
